last Friday night

Not a lot to say right now. Well, I do have a lot to say, but AT&T won't be out to set up U-Verse for about a week, so I'm blogging from my iPhone.

I'm out of both old apartments. I'm certainly happy about only living in one place now. All accounts are closed and I'm settled in the new place. I'm very happy.

I'll have to give more details later, but it's hard to type a full blog post with my thumbs, you know. :)

an end has a start

I have just a little soapbox tidbit today.

It's true that you do not know how something you do to someone can hurt them until the same thing happens to you. Even then, you may not know because you do not have the same past experiences as that person to make you react to things the way you do.

That being said, have you ever had someone passive aggressively talk about you online in some form or fashion? I know many have. One of my closest friends was terribly slandered online by a group of people who seemed to only want to make her life miserable. Those people surely could have had no idea how much it hurts a person to be talked about in a forum where they cannot defend or speak for themselves. This happened to me also, but on a much simpler scale. It was a couple of sentences. Perhaps a venting from a particularly bad day. But it hurt nevertheless. It hurt a lot that what was said online could not be said to me in person. So in my last post, wrong though it may have been, I made a comment that was in much the very same nature as the one posted about me. I did it on purpose to make a point without blatantly stating it. One should not write things about people and hurt them if they cannot handle people writing about them in the same manner. In other words, if it hurts your feelings when people write about you, you should not write about others.

Keep your malicious thoughts to yourself online, at least. Tell a close friend or family member to get it off your chest and leave it at that. No one likes to be talked about in a mean way.

the goldrush

As promised, I made a video of the 4th of July fireworks. It's 15 minutes long, but I've watched it twice, anyway.

Anywho, Corey is presumably quitting his job as I type this. The post won't come up until later, because I'm currently uploading the video you just watched to YouTube. So this is kind of a back-dated post here. He hates that job, and feels like he has too much to do in preparation for moving and starting the new job to have to deal with the nonsense and stress he's endured the past couple of weeks.

Moving should be interesting. My parents are coming on Sunday to pack up and move everything in my old apartment. I've been thinking, the thing I'm most excited about with that is having all my movies and loungewear back. For sure. And my kitchen table. Which I will probably have to seriously scrub down given what I observed last time I went back to check on things. I am nervous about not having enough money (as usual), but I am excited about being in a new place.

see you soon

I changed up my blog layout. Drastically. If that wasn't already apparent.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July. I did for sure, thanks to a friend at work switching me work days so I had time to go home to see my family. I will definitely be writing her a Mercy 6th floor Bear Hug for that.

I took Abigail home to bathe her outside and let her run around and play and bark in the sunshine, since we don't have a lot of opportunities for that at home. I think she had a good time, but she was certainly tired and happy to be home by the end of the day! She slept the whole way home in the car, and laid on the floor and passed out once we got here.

I am going to be hopefully working on making a little video of the fireworks from the Greenwood square last night. Long and boring, for sure, but nice for folks who didn't go to a fireworks show or want to watch some more. I may delete Ruby and my commentary from it, too, depending on how funny it is. We'll see what I can figure out with iMovie.

We've got just over a week until we move into the new apartment. I'm excited, but very nervous. Nervous about money, logistics, Corey being gone to AT&T training, and whatever.
